VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
YOUTH HUB ADVISORS
We’re looking for youth volunteers to join the Brightside Youth Advisory.
Use your voice, choice, and action to be a part of the change and gain leadership experience while a member of the team.
You must live in Oxford County and be between the ages of 12 and 25 years to be considered for the volunteer position.

Purpose
Do you care about where you live, work and play? Give a voice to the local youth on matters relating to services such as what works, doesn’t work and why. As an advisory member, you’ll provide recommendations, advice and information on issues that affect Oxford youth to ensure youth have the supports and services they need as well as creating a safe and dedicated space of your own. Use your voice, choice, and action, to be a part of the change and gain leadership experience while a member of the team.
Membership
You MUST live in Oxford County
Between the ages of 12 and 25 years
Meetings
Date/Time: The meetings will be held once a month, the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 4:00-5:00 pm
Location: Brightside (912 Dundas Street Woodstock, ON), or as required
Meeting dates, times and location are to be determined by the members of this advisory; virtual or in-person meetings
As a member of the youth advisory, you’ll:
Provide a fresh perspective on matters that affect you every day
Give advice on programs and services that affect you and other youth in your community
Identify gaps and barriers, and suggest ideas to increase participation at the Hub
Promote engagement at the Hub and be a Hub Champion to promote the Hub
Participate and demonstrate leadership
Collaborate with the Hub and provide leadership to maintain Social Media platforms
Assist with Project/Pop-up Events (Face to Face and virtual)
Compensation
Members will be compensated for their time working on the project
Members may choose monetary (gift card) or volunteer hours as per high school volunteer requirements
To apply
Applicant should have lived experience in navigating the local health care system and/or a passion for advocating for youth.
